Search Quick Tip #1

Standard

As Daniel Goldman (2014) says, we are asking our homo sapien brains to process fifteen times more information today than we did in 1986.  Until spring break I will be populating a list of quick search tips for all sorts of applications so you can get at what you need faster.

  1. Ctrl f  (in most application and generally speaking most websites this combination will present a search box)
  2. Window key and start typing (this will search anything present in Windows 8 including all installed software)
  3. / (in Google Drive online clicking / will automatically place your cursor in the search box)

Google Drive 101- What is the cloud anyway?

Standard

Now that you all have successfully migrated away from P drive it’s time for Google school.  Between now and the December break at lunchtime on Tuesdays and Thursdays a series of sessions will be offered.  In order to make informed decisions about how and where you use information by way of Google products and how you use Google Apps in the classroom without being schooled by Google’s trickiness please attend any or all sessions face to face or follow the instructions yourself online (yes you can take an online course:)).

The first session starts today in room 110 at lunchtime and will be repeated on Thursday.
